Village: Dundarave

One of the more established areas of West Vancouver, this charming seaside stroll is full of artisan shops, groceries and restaurants. Located one block off the water, this portion of Marine Drive lies just west of its sister village, Ambleside. Walk along the street and down to the pier where the world famous Beach House restaurant lies at the end of the West Vancouver seawalk. A day on the beach here includes fabulous views of downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park and the UBC / Point Grey peninsula. Views of Vancouver Island are also breathtaking and it’s a great place to wave at the passing cruise ships as they head north to Alaska during the summer. Nearby residents enjoy ocean life at its best, which means we get our fair share of Hollywood celebs living here too.

Monthly Jazz Vespers featuring some of Lower Mainland’s finest musicians. This month we welcome Henry Young Quartet with Vancouver’s most enduring jazz guitarist Henry Young, along with Jaye Krebs on piano; Paul Blaney on bass, and John Nolan on drums.

This month Peter and the Wolves Dixieland Menagerie will be our guests on Palm Sunday, with Jim Armstrong on trumpet and vocals, Gerry Green on clarinet, Peter Vanderhorst on piano and Casey Tolhurst on acoustic bass. The repertoire includes traditional jazz and well-known gospel music.

No experience necessary. Just a willingness to let the rest of the world go by for two hours. Music books provided. Drop-in donation $5.
