May 8th – 1:30 pm and 10:30 pm

How does someone who hated reading as a child wind-up being a best-selling author and illustrator? Jeremy will talk about his childhood struggles with reading and how his love of illustration eventually made him a connaisseur of story-telling in all its many forms. He will also read from his books and show how he creates his unique style of illustration.

Jeremy Tankard is the best-sellling author and illustrator of three very silly picture books: Grumpy Bird, Boo Hoo Bird and Me Hungry! He continues to illustrate books for other authors: Piggy Bunny by Rachel Vail, It’s a Tiger! by David Larochelle and his latest, Here Comes Destructorsaurus! by Aaron Reynolds due out in April 2014. Jeremy enjoys eating apple pie and practicing KungFu. But never at the same time.
