2017 marks the 10-year anniversary of the boutique opening. To celebrate, Blushing Boutique will be hosting a party with an open studio. Master of Ceremonies, actress and singer, Karen Holness will host the main event, a retro fashion show followed by a showing of the Fall 17 Collection and a sneak peak of the Holiday collection. The “Blushing Throughout the Years” fashion show will showcase signature Shelley Klassen designs from 1999-2017. There will be many draw prizes from local businesses and contests at the event, including a contest for the “Best Blushing Outfit” with a grand prize of a $250 gift certificate. There will also be a live DJ, and appetizers and refreshments.
The event will also showcase local design talent. Blushing Boutique carries accessories and jewellery by over 10 different local Vancouver designers. The designers featured at the event include Bronsino Leather Designs by Denise Wilson, JFG Designs Jewellery by Jules F, and Earth Essence Jewellery by Tamara Ryan.
Owner and designer Shelley Klassen launched her line Blushing Designs in 1999 and opened her flagship boutique in 2007 on Richards St. in downtown Vancouver. Prior to opening the boutique, Klassen wholesaled her line to over 65 boutiques across Canada, as well as boutiques, in LA, Australia and Dubai.
