This event features Ian Parker, internationally known concert pianist, and piano and violin students of the North Shore Branch of the BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association. These students will be performing their repertoire that they will be playing with Lions Gate Sinfonia Orchestra on Saturday, October 10th at Centennial Theatre. Ian will listen to each student and discuss their piece and ways to improve upon their performance. Ian Parker’s passion for music and teaching promises to make this event very entertaining as well as educational! It has been a very popular event in the past and has value to students, parents, musicians, and anyone who enjoys music!

Born in Vancouver to a family of pianists, Ian Parker began his piano studies at age three with his father, Edward Parker. He holds both the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School, where he was a student of Yoheved Kaplinsky. While at Juilliard, the Canada Council for the Arts awarded him the Sylva Gelber Career Grant, which is given annually to the “most talented Canadian artist.”
