This year, we are delighted to host Dr. Shimi Kang as our keynote speaker. Shimi is a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, award-winning academic and #1 best-selling author who “prescribes” Big Sisters to many girls to help them achieve optimal health and wellbeing. Shimi believes that mentoring has a powerful impact on the lives of young girls, mentors and our community as a whole—and our research proves it. Through her treatment, research, speaking and writing, Shimi has helped thousands of children, adolescents and adults move towards better health and more positive lives.

Shimi will speak about how mentoring, contributing, and connecting are among our most powerful antidepressants. The human brain is not only the most complex thing in the whole universe, but also the most individually unique. Despite this infinite range, there are a few key activities that will activate positive pathways no matter who you are. In this keynote, Dr. Shimi Kang will provide practical powerful “prescriptions” for health and well-being.
