This film is a moving new documentary that shines a light on the urgent need to provide better protection for the human rights of African grandmothers who are leaders in the struggle against HIV & AIDS in Africa. The film centres on the Foundation’s 2013 People’s Tribunal in Vancouver, B.C., and tells the remarkable story of grandmothers from AIDS-stricken countries in sub-Saharan Africa. It highlights their heroic fight against HIV/AIDS; their struggle against the odds to claim their human rights in the face of violence, property grabbing, extreme poverty and woefully inadequate health care; and the support African grandmothers receive a world away from 10,000 Canadian grandmothers (SLF’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign).
