Ambleside Park

The Coho Festival is a great public event where the whole family can enjoy a day at Ambleside Park of fun including: The Coho Run, The Coho Walk, The Coho Swim, activities for the kids, live entertainment, great food, and interactive learning about the environment, salmon, and other wildlife.The 2013 Coho Festival will be a near zero waste event, meaning that all possible materials used at the event will be recyclable, reusable, or compostable.

Patrons of the Coho Festival are encouraged to take public transit, walk or bike to the event. There will be a bike valet service available to allow many people to bike to the event and park securely. If you do need to drive there will be no parking on site, please use parking on local side streets and Carpool. There will be parking avalible at Park Royal in the Northeast corner parkade only, located on Clyde Avenue east of Taylor Way. From Park Royal you can either take public transit to the Ambleside area or you can walk through the Capilano Pacific trail behind Park Royal South to Ambleside Park.

The Coho Society flagship has long been the Coho Festival which is held the second Sunday after Labour Day each year. Several thousand people attend this event to take in environmental exhibits in our stewardship zone, to enjoy outdoor entertainment by the water in Ambleside Park, to participate in children’s activities and to enjoy our famous salmon barbecue where we grill Ocean Wise Certified and Ecotrust Certified, wild, Haida Gwaii, Coho Salmon.The festival is the main fund raiser for the Coho Society to support it’s Salmon Habitat rejuvenation projects, Fund research and The Coho festival also a venue for Coho Kids to raise funds for salmonid programs in the classroom.
