The Lost Fingers

Event Details

Kay Meek Centre

In 1928, at the young age of 18, Django Reinhardt lost the use of two fingers in a fire. Following that, Reinhardt developed a unique, jazz inspired-style of guitar playing and became one of the world’s most influential musicians.

In 2006 guitar virtuosos Byron Mikaloff and Christian Roberge met jazz bassist Alex Morissette at the Quebec Conservatory of Music. Two years later, the trio combined great musicianship with a sense of humor, and united their unique voices to create an ingenious tribute to the 80’s and Reinhardt, with the album “Lost In The 80’s”.

With their resourceful approach and perfect gitan technique, the trio from Quebec City still find their inspiration from the classic 80’s repertoire, and also honors the Canadian stars from this era notably: Corey Hart, Bryan Adams, Rush and Men Without Hats!
