Jaclyn Guillou developed a project for CBC radio and television, a tribute to Dinah Washington and for the first time will be appearing in public for 2 nights live at the Cellar. The project is truly a reverence for Dinah Washington who was one of Jaclyn’s first jazz influences. Dinah Washington lived an incredible, yet fairly short, musical career singing various genres of music that include gospel, jazz, blues and popular hits.

With Jaclyn’s 1950s take on the music that Dinah Washington sang, the project also includes the work that Dinah did with Brook Benton for Mercury Records and will be joined by remarkable male vocalist, Steve Maddock. The singers of Company B add their gorgeous trio stylings to this exceptional vocal based project. Steve Kaldestad, featured on tenor sax and clarinet, contributes a modern sound steeped in deep jazz tradition. Bruno Hubert’s trio (also member of Jaclyn Guillou’s quintet) adds a generous helping of serious groove and harmony,
a serious and uniquely lush rhythm section.
