Ambleside Orchestra’s Season Opening Gala Concert, conducted by Nicolas Krusek, features West Vancouver’s 13-year-old guest pianist Augustin Wright. Celebrate music in our community with a wine reception and concert to raise funds for Ambleside Orchestra’s youth scholarship and orchestra development programs.
Augustin Wright will perform the first movement of Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor, Opus16. The program also includes Antonín Dvořák’s well-loved Slavonic Dances, and Overture to a Fairy Tale, by Canadian composer Oskar Morawetz.
This gala concert is a fundraiser for the orchestra’s youth scholarship and orchestra development programs. Ticket price includes a complimentary wine reception at 6:45pm, followed by the concert at 8:00pm.
Ambleside’s musicians are all ages and come from all walks of like. The orchestra’s scholarships and awards program recognizes young members for their skills and contributions, and all members benefit from a mentorship partnership with the Vancouver Academy of Music.
