Lion’s Gate serves the City and District of North Vancouver, the District of West Vancouver, the Village of Lions Bay and Bowen Island Municipality.

​Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) provides a full range of general and many specialized acute care services including general medicine, emergency and critical care, general surgery, orthopaedics, maternity, pediatrics, psychiatry, chemotherapy, cardiac care, diagnostics, nuclear medicine, palliative care, rehabilitative services and neurosurgery.

Lions Gate Hospital is part of the Coastal Health Services Delivery Area (HSDA) of Vancouver Coastal Health providing acute, community and primary health services to more than 270,000 residents in rural and urban settings living on the North Shore, in Sea-to-Sky Country, on the Sunshine Coast and in Powell River. Programs and services are planned and delivered addressing the needs of patients, clients, and their families as they move through all stages of care, treatment, rehabilitation and recovery. Additionally, it is affiliated with and provides service to BC’s Central Coast, including Bella Bella and Bella Coola. North Shore/Coast Garibaldi has acute centres and emergency clinics in North Vancouver, Sechelt, Powell River, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton.

A recognized trauma centre, LGH has 268 beds, eight operating rooms and a variety of diagnostic services and equipment. It is the fourth busiest hospital in Vancouver and one of only five neurosurgery centres in B.C.

While at Lions Gate, you will be cared for by a multi-disciplinary health care team including: doctors, nurses, dieticians, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other medical professionals. Private duty nurses are also available upon request for an additional cost.
