Closing Statement
A chance to wrap-up with some final remarks. Don't forget to Vote!

I am a proud West Vancouver resident, deeply rooted in this community and passionate about its future. I’m raising my three children here, two at Mulgrave and one at École Cedardale. Like so many West Van families, this place is not just where we live, it is where we belong.
Shaped in no small part by the values and education I received at Collingwood School, I worked with communities around the world on sustainable development, public policy and responsible finance. I have spoken at over 50 UN events and trained municipal employees from 12 different countries on urban resilience. I hold a Master of Arts in Geography from McGill University. I also give back locally wherever I can, volunteering with West Vancouver’s Hockey for Autism program, sharing my UN experience with students in local schools and previously serving on the West Vancouver Community Engagement Committee.

Sustainable finances – no surprises: We need a municipal budget that is realistic and grounded in the needs of the community. Our seniors centre and ice rink are over-subscribed, our infrastructure needs consistent investment, but we cannot rely on surprise levies and tax increases to fund our community structures. We need financing partnerships with all levels of government and careful long-term planning.
Housing choices so the people you love don’t have to leave: West Vancouver is facing provincial pressure on housing at the same time as our growing families and local businesses see a real and urgent need for housing. There is a right way to grow our community – one that is based on recognizing that this need comes from within our own community. I know how to negotiate. As the UN’s lead on international agreements on climate and nature, I brought parties with competing interests to consensus. I’ll put my skills to work to ensure that West Vancouver prioritizes housing choices for the people who are already part of our community.
