West Vancouver Community Centre

The annual event, located in the sunny atrium of the West Vancouver Community Centre, will once again serve up a colourful celebration of spring and fine art on April 30th. The exhibit and sale typically draws over a thousand art lovers and collectors from across the region, eager to see what the artists ‘in our midst’ have created through the gray days of winter.

Artist and long-time Guild member Carole Wilson is the event coordinator. She says with a membership of well over 300 local residents of the North Shore, encouraging community involvement is always front of mind for the NSAG.

Wilson says “I tend to think of the average Guild member as being a bit like a flower: rooted in the community and dedicated to adding a touch of colour to our lives!”

Wilson says this year’s show will feature some 400 paintings created by over 100 of the Guild’s members. And, with the club’s members enjoying a growing reputation for artistic excellence, she adds collectors seeking the virtuosity of the “thing well done” will have a huge variety of original works to choose from should they decide to add to their art collection.

The Guild welcomes everyone to come see the diverse talent on the North Shore on

Sunday April 29th from 10AM to 5PM. The West Vancouver Community Centre is located at 2121 Marine Drive. Admission is free and attendees are invited to enter the free prize draw.

About the North Shore Artists Guild:
Founded 70 years ago, around the idea of ‘artists helping artists’, the North Shore Artists’ Guild (NSAG) represents 325 local artists. The members work over 3500 volunteer hours each year to run the Guild, making the organization one of the leading arts groups in British Columbia and a key player in the region’s arts scene. The NSAG strives to both increase the awareness and appreciation of original art in our communities and help develop artists through education programs including demos, workshops and events.
