THE VENETIAN TWINS, by Carlo Goldoni, tells the story of identical twins, Zanetto and Tonino who come to Verona to find true love. Rosaura has been pledged to Zanetto and Beatrice has run away from Venice to meet Tonino so they can be married. Unfortunately, things get complicated. In true commedia dell’arte style, identities are confused, letters get destroyed, money is stolen, parents become angry, lovers quarrel, old men have inappropriate intentions, Arlecchino gets out of control and only Columbina knows what’s going on! This fast-paced comedy, set in the 18th century, is fun for the whole family.
The show runs approximately 2 hours including a 15-minute intermission. THE VENETIAN TWINS is in the Kay Meek Studio Theatre Feb. 25, 26 & 27 at 7:30pm. Tickets ($12) go on sale during lunch from Feb. 18 in front of the WVSS cafeteria.
