Join us as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Six String Nation Guitar with a night of music from the Great Canadian Songbook. For this special anniversary performance, we welcome artists Suzie Ungerleider (formerly Oh Susanna), JIMI, Roy Forbes and Paul Pigat to the Kay Meek.
Built out of more than 70 iconic pieces of Canadian history – from the Golden Spruce on Haida Gwaii to Paul Henderson’s hockey stick (yes, that hockey stick!) – the Voyageur guitar has a story to tell. Over the years, Voyageur has been played by hundreds of musicians, including Feist, Stompin’ Tom Connors, and Gordon Lightfoot.
Drawing from their own creations, as well as beloved classics from Canada’s most revered troubadours, each artist will share stories and songs that explore what it means to be Canadian. Jowi Taylor, former national CBC Radio host will be your host for the evening. An incredible night of story and song.
