This award winning event, presented by the Port of Vancouver, is the largest Canada Day celebration outside our nation’s capital, Ottawa. Canada Day at Canada Place has been Vancouver’s premier event for 29 years, bringing communities together to share our special bond of living in one of the greatest country’s in the world and celebrating our freedom, values and diversity. With the popular daytime festival, the evening parade through downtown Vancouver and the simultaneous two barge fireworks spectacular, Canada Day at Canada Place is the best way to celebrate our nation’s birthday!

The festivities will continue into the evening with the popular Canada Day Parade presented by Port of Vancouver, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Georgia and Broughton, and the Canada Day Fireworks Show at 10:30 p.m. in Burrard Inlet.

Event Highlights

Main Stage presented by CN (Canada Place Way at Canada Place) – Featuring a full day of amazing music including headliner Aaron Pritchett and other artists Barney Bentall, Mo Kenney, Twin Kennedy and more. Click here to read performer bios.

The Pier Point Lounge presented by Steam Whistle Brewing (Canada Place North Point) – With the stunning North Shore mountains in the background, the North Point at Canada Place will host a family-friendly licensed area and performance stage.

Citizenship Ceremony (Hall A, Vancouver Convention Centre East) – Hosted by Global BC’s news anchors Chris Gailus and Sophie Lui, the Citizenship Ceremony is a special part of our annual celebration. Reaffirm your own citizenship and join us as we welcome 60 new citizens to our Canadian family in a heartfelt ceremony at 11:00 a.m.

Celebration Stage (Hall A, Vancouver Convention Centre East) – Following the Citizenship Ceremony, the legendary Red Robinson will host a talented line-up of multicultural performances and talent, and will share stories of his life as Vancouver’s DJ and a career spanning 50 years.

Expo Pavilion (Ballrooms ABC, Vancouver Convention Centre East) – Expo 86 welcomed the world to Vancouver, and Canada Place had the honour of sharing the very best of this country as the Canada Pavilion. Relive your Expo86 memories with our memorabilia and exhibits, or try your hand at Pac-Man in the 80s video arcade!

Port of Vancouver Discovery Centre (Below FlyOver Canada) – Visit our new interactive space to learn about Canada’s largest port. Complete your Port Passport to win a harbour tour for you and nine friends, and four tickets to the Canada Day 2017 Fireworks Show. Meet Salty the Seagull, get your face painted, play fun games, make arts and crafts, and take a photo in the #MyPortCity selfie booth. Make sure to stop by the Canada150 booth for a chance to win two tickets with Air Canada!

Canadian Forces Zone (Hall B, Vancouver Convention Centre East) – See incredible displays and exhibits that honour Canada’s Army, Navy and Air Force including search and rescue displays, CF-18 cockpit, and a souvenir photo booth.

Canada Place Way – Stroll down Canada Place Way and play a game of pick-up street hockey, presented by Nature’s Path Food. Enjoy a wide variety of food options from all of the food carts.

Coast Capital Savings Youth Zone (Jack Poole Plaza – north of Olympic cauldron) – Check out the 80s fashion show, experience a photo shoot with The Collective You and fashion influencers Mac Harmon and the PARTYSKIRTS, and an amazing line-up on stage, including headliners Bear Mountain.

XPogo Stunt Team presented by Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (Jack Poole Plaza performance zone) – Watch the world’s best extreme pogo demo crew, featuring championship pro athletes flying over 10 feet in the air on extreme pogo sticks throwing down flips and incredible tricks.
