Karen Straith is a candidate for School Board Trustee in the West Vancouver School District for the 2026 civic election. She recently retired after 28 years as the Manager of Business (or Operations Manager) at the West Vancouver Teachers’ Association.
Straith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, with studies in English Literature, Political Science, and Urban and Regional Planning.
Her platform focuses on advocating for stronger provincial funding for public education, addressing declining enrolment, and ensuring safe, inclusive learning environments. She highlights her experience as a parent, PAC member and volunteer with Special Olympics BC as key qualifications for the role.
