We are excited to partner with British Pacific Properties and bring to you, Mind Bugs, a presentation
by Dr. Calvin Lai, Assistant Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. We will be both entertained and shocked as we explore our own implicit bias, the blind spot of our minds.
Using brain science, Dr. Lai will explain the gap between what people value (e.g., racial equality) and what people do (e.g., racial discrimination). This phenomenon occurs outside of our consciousness and manifests itself as unintended biases.
Not only will you learn more about this fascinating topic and how it impacts our daily decision making, but the West Vancouver Community Foundation will link Mind Bugs with the release the of the 2017
Vital Signs Report – an exploration of Belonging, Diversity and Inclusion, and Affordable Housing in West Vancouver.
We hope to see you there!
Ticket Price: $20 – All revenue from ticket sales for Mind Bugs will go to support the West Vancouver Community Foundation and the Kay Meek Centre.
