Our third program features guest clarinettist AK Coope in the rarely played
Bernard Herrmann clarinet quintet, Souvenirs de Voyage. Herrmann is best
known as a film composer, particularly for Psycho and several other
Hitchcock films. This quintet is the last concert piece that he ever wrote.
Also on the program, the Bloch Prelude and Philip Glass’ luminous 5th
quartet, thought of by some as his best work for string quartet.
Admission is by donation.
The Pro Nova Ensemble will also perform the same program on April 7,
Sunday, 7.30pm, at Mt Seymour United Church in North Vancouver.
