Beethoven said, “Handel was the greatest composer that ever lived. I would uncover my head, and kneel before his tomb.” Haydn said, “He is the master of us all.” Johann Sebastian Bach is reported to have said, “He is the only person I would wish to see before I die, and the only person I would wish to be, were I not Bach.” Upon hearing that statement, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is said to have exclaimed, “Truly, I would say the same myself if I were permitted to put in a word!”
You can hear the world’s perennial Christmas favourite with an all-star cast including conductor Jon Washburn, great soloists, choirs and orchestra. There are two performances only, and we perform it only every three years, so get your tickets early. The Saturday performance is a special collaboration with the Archdiocese of Vancouver.
