Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill, which opened in 1999, signalled the arrival of high-end dining in Vancouver’s then emerging Yaletown. Today Yaletown is one of Vancouver’s most stylish neighbourhoods, and Cioppino’s remains one of the city’s top culinary destinations. NHL players are regular customers, and Vancouver socialites as well as Hollywood celebrities like Jennifer Anniston dine in the private wine room. Executive chef Pino Posteraro is one of only a handful of Canadian chefs to be inducted into the prestigious DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America).
Executive chef, Rob Gentile worked under one of Canada’s most recognized top chefs, Mark McEwan, for ten years before launching his own restaurant empire. Rob’s first restaurant, Buca Osteria & Entocca opened in 2009 and is now noted as Toronto’s best Italian restaurant. In 2014, Gentile opened Bar Buca and in 2015, Buca Osteria and Bar which was chosen by Toronto Life Magazine as the city’s best new restaurant.
